Social networking websites have become an increasingly central feature of the landscape of college students’ social lives. This prompts questions about potential applications for this form of community within the academic community we foster in our classes and on campus. Our presentation uses Facebook.com as a case study, exploring how FB communication among and between students, teachers, and other campus personnel shapes dynamics in the classroom and beyond.
